Annie Sloan doesn’t just make paint, she also offers a range of decorative products such as decoupage glue, metal leaf and cracqueleur. These are great fun to use and can take your piece of furniture to a completely different level. We are always on hand to advise how to use these but to get best results we recommend booking on one of our Annie Sloan courses.

Loose Metal Leaf £5.95
The books are 5 inches by 5 inches and contain 20 sheets and come in Brass, Aluminium and Copper. Loose leaf is cheaper than transfer and is used for most gilding purposes, particularly carved surfaces.
Loose Leaf Brass
Also known as Imitation Gold or sometimes as Dutch Gold.
Use the leaf with hands lightly dusted with talcum powder and stick the leaf on to a surface coated with Gold Size. Brass tarnishes so apply clear wax
Loose Leaf Aluminium
Also known as Imitation Silver
Use the leaf with hands lightly dusted with talcum powder and stick the leaf on to a surface coated with Gold Size. Aluminium does not tarnish so there is no need to apply clear wax but to make it look like silver a light coat of dark wax gives it a look of vintage silver
Transfer Leaf £6.95
The books are 5 inches by 5 inches and contain 20 sheets and come in Brass, Aluminium and Copper. This is leaf very lightly adhered to a tissue, making it possible to pick up and apply the leaf easily. It is useful for applying to a large area particularly on a wall or large piece of furniture. It is applied in the same way using gold size.
Gold Size £5.45
Size is an old English word for glue. Gold size is the glue used for applying bronze powders and metal leaf to surfaces.
Annie Sloan Gold Size is water based and has the advantage of staying sticky when dry.
Paint it on thinly, allow 5 minutes to dry. When dry it becomes clear and then is the time to apply either bronze powders or metal leaf. Any unused areas may be waxed, varnished or washed, making them no longer sticky.
Decoupage Varnish £6.45
Annie Sloan Decoupage is a water based fast drying glue and varnish. It builds up layers very quickly making it suitable for découpage. It is extra thick and easy to apply but should be applied thinly. With a paper, such as gift wrap, about 6 layers are needed to give a smooth finish. The finish is matt.
