Chalk Paint® is a unique decorative paint developed by Annie Sloan in 33 decorative and historical colours made specifically for painting furniture, painting floors, and for giving walls a completely matt, velvety finish.

Chalk Paint® sticks to just about any surface... wood (waxed pine, melamine and varnished wood), concrete, metal, matt plastic, earthenware and much more, both inside and outside the home. Gorgeous results have never been so simple and straightforward. And the best bit, woodwork NEEDS NO PRIMING, NO SANDING, NO PREPARATION! It’s never been easier and quicker to get the results you want.

The paint is soft, making it easy to use. You can add water to make it thinner to create a smooth finish or leave the lid off or pop it in the fridge to thicken it if you want a finish with texture and patina. Annie Sloan has designed a clear and dark wax for use to seal the paint, giving it a beautiful mellow and protective finish. You can use the clear wax on its own or with the addition of the dark wax to create an aged look, bringing out any detail. You can also colour the clear soft wax with a little Chalk Paint®.

The colours have been inspired by European 18th century furniture and 20th century paintwork and have been made bright and rich. They can be darkened with use of the dark wax or lightened with the addition of one of the whites from the range. All the Annie Sloan paint colours can also be mixed without dulling so the range of colours is endless.

Here at Ministry of upholstery we are experts in using Annie Sloan products and are always on hand to offer advice and guidance. We have every single colour open in our workshop so if you want to have a look at the true colour, as opposed to on a chart, then we encourage you to come and see us. The colours do vary slightly and looking on a computer can never give an accurate impression of the colour. There is no substitute for looking at the real thing. We also have every colour painted on something within our workshop so can show you how it will look when finished. If the range doesn’t offer the colour you want then you are more than welcome to use our open paints to mix your perfect colour. Don’t worry if you’re not sure how to get the colour you want, we are experts in colour mixing and are more than happy to help!
