Our weekend taster session in modern upholstery is designed as an introduction to the craft. You can choose whether you upholster a footstool or a dressing table stool, learning about the tools and materials used as well as covering lots of techniques from webbing, applying Hessian and wadding, cutting fabric, corners and shallow buttoning. You will also be introduced to Chalk Paint™, decorative paint by Annie Sloan and basic painting techniques and be able to choose from 33 colours to paint your legs to match your fabric choice!

The course runs from 11.00am to 5.00pm on both Saturday and Sunday. We keep the class size small with a maximum of 8 people to ensure that you get the most out of it. The course includes everything necessary to complete the project apart from fabric so all you need to bring is 1 metre of your chosen fabric. At the end of the two days you will be able to take your footstool home to show off your new found skills. Keep it and admire your handiwork or, alternatively you could always sell it to pay for your next course because trust us, you will be addicted!

one-on-one teaching / workshop access / introduction to Annie Sloan painting techniques and use of 33 Chalk Paint colours/ everything you need to make your stool apart from one metre of fabric
