If you’re thinking about, or are already selling any type of upholstered furniture, then you must ensure that your pieces both meet fire safety regulations and are labelled correctly. Not only this but you should be keeping records. It is a criminal offence to supply goods to the public which are not safe. The regulations apply to newly made furniture and the re-upholstery of furniture manufactured after 1st January 1950. This session will cover your responsibilities in terms of compliance for domestic furniture in the UK only.*
