COVID-19 Statement

Last updated Saturday 16th May 2020

Ministry of Upholstery’s latest statement on reopening and coronavirus (COVID-19).

It’s important to reassure you that this information is current and correct as of the date at the top and as and when things develop or change, we will update this statement to suit.

For several weeks now we have been working and re-working on plans to re-open our doors to the MoU. We honestly can’t tell you how much we’ve missed the community and how much we are looking forward to welcoming students back. We’re closely following Government guidance at all times and are now considering the detailed plan published at the beginning of the week to further inform our own plans. The safety of our staff and students remains our priority at all times.

Monday 18th May

Online Shop

Our online shop will re-open. We will still be working with a skeleton staff as we implement a safe and phased return to work. We have implemented a trade counter at the workshop for safe collection and we will be dispatching orders twice per week. Our shop is fully stocked with upholstery sundries. Our foam supplier remains closed until 1st June so we may not be able to fulfil foam or kit orders until that date. ALL orders should be placed through the website where possible. Frame, foam and kit orders should be placed by emailing office@ministryofupholstery.co.uk. The phones are not being manned at this time.

Online Course

Our online course is fully stocked and will be available to buy from this date. Please order via our website or by emailing office@ministryofupholstery.co.uk. The phones are not being manned at this time.

Course Bookings

If you were booked into the workshop on or during lockdown you can expect an email on Monday 18th May asking you to re-book your dates from 6th July onwards. 6th July is our planned open date but we will be taking Government guidance on this. If required, we will push this back to ensure the safety of all of our staff and students. We will prioritise all students already booked into the workshop before we open to new bookings. If you do not receive an email please contact us by emailing office@ministryofupholstery.co.uk. Please note that the phones are not being manned at this time.
From this date you can buy a gift voucher for any of our courses via our website or via email to office@ministryofupholstery.co.uk. We will contact anyone with a voucher from Monday 25th May in order to secure your dates.

Monday 25th May

We will contact anyone with a gift voucher or a course booking for weekday courses in order to secure your dates. As above we will be taking bookings from 6th July, based on Government guidance. If you do not receive an email please contact us by emailing office@ministryofupholstery.co.uk. Please note that the phones are not being manned at this time.

Monday 6th July

Our planned opening date to welcome students back to the workshop. Please be assured that this will only be our re-opening date if the Government deem it safe to do so. We will be following all advice and guidance regarding safety measures. More information regarding this to follow.

Weekend and design course bookings

We are currently  busy scheduling a new calendar of dates, which will run across the summer and the rest of the year. Once we have scheduled these dates, we will prioritise anyone with a current booking, before moving on to new bookings; made after Monday 18th May. Please do not contact us regarding a weekend or design course booking as we do not yet have the new dates. We will contact everyone once we do.
